The calendar has been updated (A big thank-you to Andrea for organising this for us!) to include some new and exciting clinics for the year!! Make sure to check it out and looking forward to seeing as many riders as possible. If you have any ideas or suggestions of clinics or special events please let us know.
The best place to put your thoughts and ideas forward is at the monthly meetings; the next one is being held on Tuesday February 17th at 8pm. All members are welcomed!
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all KRC members! If you were lucky enough to score some holidays, I hope you've enjoyed a well earned break!
Just a reminder that the first club meeting for the year is on Tuesday the 13th of January in the Club Rooms starting at 8pm. All members are welcomed and encouraged to join.
Also the first rally is on Saturday the 24th of January.
Christmas is coming and that also means it's almost time for our Christmas Party & Working Bee on Saturday 13th starting at 10.30am with the sealing of the water jump followed by a BBQ lunch! Looking forward to seeing everyone there!!
The two Kinglake Riders Club teams had great success at the recent TTT Dressage event held at Werribee this past week. We were represented by two teams (The Lakers and The Lakers Too) with The Lakers coming in 2nd over all. Many riders achieved personal bests which was great to see given there were over 700 riders out competing and with Mother Nature trying her best to wash everyone away!! A BIG congratulations to all involved!
Just a reminder that there is no Meeting or Rally for the month of December; instead we will be holding a Christmas Party & Working Bee on Saturday the 13th of December starting at 10am. It will consist of a short working bee to seal the bottom of the water jump and followed by a BBQ lunch.
The next meeting will be held on Tuesday the 13th of January with the next rally being Saturday the 24th of January. Hope to see you all there and don't forget to renew your membership if you haven't done so already!
We had another successful rally on the 24th of October with the weather being close to perfect! Updates on the website continue with the Club Information, Contact and Links pages being updated. A revamp of the Kinglake Riders Club website has commenced, with the hope, of providing all the information new and currant members could ever need!!
While this process occurs, the website may not work or appear incomplete; your patients during this time is greatly appreciated!

Also a reminder that October Rally is this Saturday (24.10.14), hope to see you there!
New Menage in Progress - February 2010
Works have started on a 2nd menage. This will provide a much needed work area for the Pony Club who struggle to fit 5 groups on the grounds
It will also allow the adult Riders to run Dressage & Showjumping lessons concurrently, increasing the limit on member numbers we currently have.
Earthworks are complete, a retaining wall, fencing and sand is on the way!.
KRC & KPC Open Day - May 2010
KRC & KPC will hold an Open Day on Sunday 11th July, from 12 noon onwards.
Everyone who assisted us to get our club-grounds back operational is invited to a BBQ lunch to see the progress we have made.
Businesses, clubs and individuals from across the country and even internationally, helped us financially and with 'man-power' to get us where we are today.
We couldn't have done it without you all - so come and join us for lunch so we can say "THANKS"!
Just prior to the working bee, we had a call from a 'construction' company saying they'd like to assist us as part of their annual community projects.
It wasn't until our first meeting that we realised exactly WHO was offering to help - international engineering firm Brookfield Multiplex!.
This is the company behind some of Melbourne's famous landmarks, including Federation Square.
They have completely stripped the interior of the clubrooms (except for the new kitchen) and re-lined & re-floored the lot!
A complete fit-out of furniture was included - chairs, tables, couches, fridge and even a flat-screen TV.
Perhaps the most noticable addition was the building of a huge deck and access ramp out the front!.
Most of the renovations were complete before Christmas... now just waiting for Power to be connected - still!
POWER!!!! - January 2010
Yes... you read correctly - we finally have power connected
Hot coffee and party pies for lunch.... yay!
Working Bee.... 14th November 2009
KRC and KPC hosted a massive working bee in Mid-November.
Volunteers came from everwhere - local pony clubs, PCAV representatives, Army Reserves and more.
A massive amount of work was achieved, in particular building of over 15 XC fences under the guidance of Mick Pineo
20 day-yards were also built and work on club-room renovations was also started
All in all it was a fabulous day and proof of what can be achieved with a little (or lot) or people power!
The New (Temporary) Clubrooms - 22nd August 2009
A portable building from Kinglake West Primary School was delivered last week by BRB Buildings.
It needs a little loving, but provided welcome relief from the cold wind.
It could be home for a while, a kitchen and toilet facilities are in planning
Pakenham Upper delivered a surprise - a dozen new showjump poles in club colors and a set of wings

KRC Back on Home Grounds - 25th July, 2009
Our grounds, located on the Kinglake Trust Reserve, were completely devastated from the February 7 Bushfires.
The buildings were gutted and we lost all our photos, ribbons, memorabilia and equipment.
Since February, we have been holding rallies at neighbouring clubs - thanks to Yarrambat and Whittlesea for accommodating us, and many others who offered us the use of their grounds.
Through the hard work of so many members from both the Adult Riding and Pony Clubs, nearly 6 months later we finally returned to our grounds.
A very cold and windy day didn't stop smiles all round!
We would like to thank all the individuals, clubs and organisations who have assisted us to get back on our feet.
We have a long way to go, but we couldn't have made it this far without all the support we have had.
The fundraising efforts other clubs have gone to in order to raise money for us has been nothing short of incredible - we will be forever grateful.
We are still receiving offers of assistance, but we will aim to keep the list as up-to-date as possible...
